Water: Don’t be the filter — filter your water instead

Quick facts about fluoridated water

  • Filter your drinking water, ice, and cooking water.
  • Fluoridated water has been linked to low energy, hypothyroidism, infertility, and lowered IQ.
  • Chlorine and fluoride can displace iodine, negatively impacting energy and thyroid function.
  • Chlorine and fluoride can decrease T4 levels.
  • Fluoride negatively affects fertility, particularly male sperm.
  • Fluoride affects maternal thyroid levels, raising questions about infant health.
  • A 2024 study out of China found IQ decreases “5.85 points per one unit increase in fluoride and iodine.”

If you don’t drink filtered water, then YOU are the filter — and disease develops from the cumulative stress of everything your body has to filter out over time. Fluoridated water may worsen low-energy symptoms by impacting thyroid hormones and decreasing free T4 levels. Even the right medication can’t achieve hormonal balance if your water intake is working against it. That 2024 China study I mentioned above found IQ decline correlating with increased fluoride exposure, and fluoride has also been shown to affect male fertility and maternal thyroid function — raising real concerns about the health of our children. Thankfully RFK Jr. has helped bring wider attention to an issue that affects both current and future generations.

I’ve seen news articles dismiss fluoride concerns by claiming that studies done in other countries simply don’t apply here — to me, that’s manipulative gaslighting, not an honest discussion of the facts. Chiropractors, holistic doctors, nurses, and health advocates have questioned water fluoridation for decades, yet research here at home remains limited. My view is simple: if something is being administered to an entire population, its safety should be questioned first, with ongoing reevaluation as our technology and understanding advance — not avoidance of scrutiny.

The immediate action you can take is to stop relying on plastic water bottles, filter all of your drinking water, ice, and cooking water, and nourish your body with healing water. Below are three easy steps to help you optimize your water intake.

Water Is Life

Step 1 — Measure

Measure your daily water intake. Use one consistent container throughout the day, take a photo of your servings before and after you drink them, or mark a smaller container with a rubber band or piece of tape each time you refill it.

Step 2 — Determine Your Water Intake Goal

Divide your body weight by two to get your daily minimum in ounces:

Step 3 — Optimize Your Water Intake

If your current intake is low, gradually increase it to a comfortable level where you’re not visiting the restroom more than 8–10 times a day. If you’re still below your goal, hold that new level steady for one week, then increase by another 8 ounces each week until you reach your target. If you’re already at or above your minimum intake, just make sure you’re not exceeding roughly 75% of your body weight in ounces:

Higher activity levels — sweating, heavy exercise — may call for more than this, but staying under the 75% threshold helps maintain adequate hydration without overdoing it.

What Counts As Water?

“Water is pure, plain water. It should not have tea, fruit or vegetables, carbonation, etc. in it.” Many water supplies, even when free of infectious material, still carry “forever chemicals,” pharmaceutical residue, and other contaminants worth avoiding. A home filtration system benefits you and your whole family. Plastic bottles should only be a temporary solution until you’re able to get a filter of your own.
